DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) is having a meeting Wednesday with the National Parks Service (NPS) so that residents can voice any concerns to the federal agency.

NPS actually manages most of the parkland in the District. Yes, that includes the obvious stuff like the National mMall but also, NPS manages:

  • Anacostia Park,
  • Fort Dupont Park
  • Fort Washington
  • Greenbelt Park
  • Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens
  • The Fort Douglass Home
  • The Baltimore Washington Parkway
  • And the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

SO maybe you have some views!

“My quarterly town hall meetings have become one of the most effective ways for me to hear from constituents about, and to work to resolve, issues related to parks in D.C. that are under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service,” Norton said. “We are fortunate to have so many parks in nearly all our neighborhoods. I look forward to hearing from my constituents.”

The meeting is via Zoom on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You can register online at norton.house.gov or email nortonevents@mail.house.gov or call 202 408 9041.
