It’s Go-Go Week! Check out the exhibit Chocolate City Keep Crankin organized by Dee Dwyer, Wayne Palmer, and the art collective NoMüNoMü at Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK Jr.) Memorial Library (901 G St. NW).

Go-Go band members, musicians, and community members will come together for a conversation on Go-Go. Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at MLK r. Library.

Capital GoGo Basketball

They’re the Wizards G-League Team and they play at St. Elizabeths East Entertainment and Sports Arena. They are hosting a The Beat Keeps Going game Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in honor of Go-Go Preservation Week. It you have a Library card, you can get tickets for $10 when you use promo code DCPL.

There will be live performance from Ms. Kim & Scooby ft. Sirius Company. The first 202 fans in attendance will receive an exclusive Capital City Go-Go Globe Printing poster.

Stream the Go Go Showcase

Stream the online premiere of a once in a lifetime showcase of Go-Go bands, including E.U., TOB and N2L! Each band plays a full set followed by an interview with Go-Go activist and historian Ron Moten. Learn about the origins of each band, about their experiences in the Go-Go scene and more. It’s all on the DCPL Youtube channel, so queue it up and dance it up on your porch Thursday night (Nov. 17) starting at 8 p.m.

Go Go Concert at the Holiday Market

Then, Friday Nov. 18, it’s dancing in the streets. Kick off the 2022 Downtown Holiday Market and celebrate Go-Go-Preservation Week with the library and beloved Go-Go Band E.U. The concert starts at 2:30. Find the market near the corner of Eighth and F Streets NW.
