Celebrate the day the dream came true!
The DC Dream Center (DCDC, 2826 Q St SE.) is holding a block party on Saturday, August 27th from 12pm-3pm.
The community center will celebrate five years since the ribbon was cut on the new building that serves the community of Southeast DC, with a particular focus on Ward 7 and 8. The event will be a time to bring the community together, thank partners, volunteers, and celebrate 5 years and counting.
The event is free with food, live music and performances, a children’s area with games, arts & crafts, face painting, bounce house, community information, 3 on 3 basketball in the gym, and biking classes with Washington Area Bicyclist Association.

The DC Dream Center offers free programs to the community including after school sessions and summer camps, one-to-one mentoring, tutoring, exercise classes including yoga, aerobics and taekwondo, Bible studies, weekly prayer breakfasts and bi-monthly reconciliation luncheons.
During the pandemic the DC Dream Center repurposed from March 2020 to June 2021 to give out over one million pounds of food, over 64,000 free meals, and over 100,000 free hygiene and non perishable items.
Executive Director Ernest Clover says “We have seen the Lord’s faithfulness and provision over the last 5 years, which has empowered us to not only be a place where hope becomes a habit but where need meets provision!”
