Want your elementary-aged child to try baseball or softball, but not sure how to make it happen? YBA PLAY is the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy’s largest program. It is a high-quality, structured, consistent, free and fun developmental baseball and softball opportunity for girls and boys ages 6 to 12.
Typically, YBA PLAY offers year-round baseball clinics each Monday at the Nats Academy, but the program is highlighted by this free, instructional summer league.
Sessions take place from June 28 to August 6 at various locations throughout the District. YBA PLAY practices and games take place from 6:15-7:45 p.m. Kids aged 6 to 9 play on Mondays and Wednesdays; Kids aged 10 to 12 play on the ’T’ days — Tuesdays and Thursdays.
YBA PLAY is focused on growing the game of baseball by minimizing barriers to participation, particularly for low-income communities; YBA PLAY is FREE and provides ALL uniform and equipment needs.
By using modified rules, YBA PLAY is able to make the game more accessible to new players and fun by promoting a faster pace of play, while rewarding effort over skill. YBA PLAY offers open enrollment, year-round.
