In July, Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) extended during the District’s COVD health emergency. DC residents cannot be evicted until sixty days after Oct. 9, 2020. The mayoral order suspended late fees and prohibited rent increases.

“As the District continues to respond to and recover from this public health emergency, we will continue to prioritize protections and supports to meet the housing needs of residents,” stated Mayor Bowser in a Sept. 10 press release.
