The Wharf will hold a Phase 2 Construction Job Fair for DC residents, on Jan. 24, 10 a.m. to noon, in partnership with the DC Housing Authority (DCHA) and the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES), Ward 6 Council member Charles Allen (D), ANC 6D, the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly (SWNA) and other community organizations. The Job Fair will be held in at the DC EnVision Center/DCHA Southwest Family Enhancement & Career Center, 203 N St. SW. Balfour Beatty, Donohoe and DPR, the Wharf’s prime contractors, are fully committed to maximizing opportunities for DC residents. They plan to participate along with their subcontractors. Pre-apprenticeship training will be offered by Building Futures, which will also have a presence at the fair. As The Wharf’s Phase 2 progresses, additional Job Fairs will be held both in Southwest DC and East of The River.
