Patterson Hood’s “deep fried rock” has deep roots in the south. Born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, son of FAME Studio’s bassist David Hood, he is a founder of the Drive-By Truckers, the heralds of “The Dirty South.” Hood is known for his deeply personal lyrics filled with evocative characters, wistful reflections and pointed political protest. His solo performances combine rousing anthems and bittersweet ballads.
