Join Councilmember Trayon White, Sr. at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the R.I.S.E. Demonstration Center (2730 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE) for a meeting that will discuss both Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and the Reunion Square Project.
The first stages of the development, just off I-295 in Anacostia, were approved by the District Zoning Commission almost five years ago. The full Reunion Square development is expected to cover 9.5 acres and consist of nine buildings with about 143,000 square feet of retail, 943,000 square feet of office space and 481 apartments.
The Tax Increment Financing (TIF) program provides funds for economic development projects by borrowing against tax income that is expected to be generated by the projects that are funded.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.
