The 18th Annual Heart to Heart Tennis Experience is the chance for the public to support and help grow the local tennis community while enjoying the sport. The Recreation Wish List Committee (RWLC), in partnership with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will host this year’s event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 29 at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center (SETLC) (701 Mississippi Ave SE).

This annual event brings together all the junior tennis clubs from across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia as well as politicians, business leaders, celebrities and the public. Juniors and adult tennis players get to showcase their skills, techniques and share their love for the game of tennis through friendly inter-generational competition.

Some highlights of Heart to Heart are the celebrity doubles match versus SETLC Tennis Scholars and tennis clinics featuring invited tennis professionals and superstars.  The day is full of activities including a Jazzercise style warm-up, food, a children’s area and more.

The event takes place in one of the top tennis facilities in the country, according to the United States Tennis Association (USTA). This year, DPR’s Southeast Tennis and Learning Center, in partnership with the Recreation Wish List Committee (RWLC), founded by Cora Masters Barry, was awarded a USTA Outstanding Facility of the Year Award for its focus on tennis, education programming and facility design.

SETLC is a world-class, state-of-the art tennis facility located in Ward 8. The SETLC serves over 140 District youth daily by providing tennis instruction, tutoring, life skills, developmental chess, and educational and personal reinforcement to the District’s youth. Tax deductible sponsorships for the 17th Annual Heart to Hart Tennis Experience are available for individuals, clubs and corporations.
